Oral conscious sedation is a great method for adults who suffer from mild to moderate dental fear or anxiety. Before your visit, we’ll prescribe a small pill for you to take. By the time you get to our dental office, you’ll feel more relaxed and calmer, allowing your treatment to go by smoothly and quickly. You’ll still notice the effects of the sedation for several hours following your visit, which is why you should be prepared by having a friend or family member drop you off and pick you up from your appointment.
Nitrous Oxide Dental Sedation (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a fast-acting sedation method that can be used for pretty much any procedure, including checkups and cleanings. We’ll place a small nose mask on your face, which will allow you to breathe in a clear, odorless gas. Within seconds, you’ll feel a wave of relaxation wash over you as we begin your treatment. Once we’re through, we’ll remove the mask, and just as fast as the effects took place, they’ll dissipate, allowing you to carry on with the rest of your day as you normally would.
